The Role of The Training Analyst
The successful candidate will be an important part of the Clubs’ Analysis Department mainly focusing on training analysis. They will ensure the First Team Head Coach and Assistant Coaches receive outstanding analytical provision whilst supporting the Head of Analysis in maintaining a best-in-class department.
Main Accountabilities
- Manage all aspects of First Team training analysis.
- Schedule all training sessions and ensure all sessions are filmed using Drones or Spiideo cameras.
- Code and database all training sessions and distribute to coaches, analysts and players (when required).
- Thoroughly analyse training sessions on a team and individual basis.
- Store relevant footage and data on training performance.
- Compare and contrast training footage with match footage to find trends.
- Telestrate training footage for meetings and presentations.
- Attend First Team matches if needed.
- Ensure analysis of training sessions are in line with Club’s style of play.
- Use training technical/tactical data to create reports and longitudinal
- Create subjective and objective reports reviewing training (weekly / quarterly / seasonal).
- Assist with pitchside training analysis if required.
- Liaise with the Head of Analysis, Head Coach and First Team Assistant Coaches on daily requirements as needed.
- Complete any other analysis related tasks requested by Head of Analysis, other analysts and coaches (pre, post, data, IDP etc).
- Keep up-to-date on analysis trends, team trends and other information.
- To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.
- To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel.

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics
- Experience working in professional football
- Experience using analysis-related software’s (WyScout, Angles, RT Tactic Pro or similar).
- Experience using automated cameras, drones and normal camcorders.
- Experience using Tableau.
- 1st Class / 2:1 Degree
- Highly analytical and high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates potential to be an outstanding functional leader.
- Ability to work unsociable hours as required involving work outside normal office hours, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Effective at preparing, planning and implementing workloads and schedules.
- A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual.
- Proactive decision maker with excellent communication skills, to work alongside other departments.
- Understands Health & Safety principles and practices.
Person Specification - Desirable Characteristics
- Has worked in 1st Team Football
- Master’s in Performance Analysis or similar
