The Role of the Insights Executive
The Insights and Strategy (I&S) team supports every off-field department in the football club to make data-driven decisions. The team works across a broad range projects from partnerships, retail, and marketing, to analysing social media content, off-field matchday performance, fan engagement and broader business strategy.
The I&S team is looking for a new Insights Executive to join us in an exciting period of expansion. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious and eager to understand how and why fan behaviour changes. We will support your growth in the role, helping you think creatively to solve business challenges.
The core responsibility of this new role is to become the go-to for ticketing insights. The successful candidate will work with the Commercial and Marketing teams to use data to guide communication plans and impact on longer-term developments in the club’s ticketing strategy.
Secondly, this role has been created to help enhance the off-field team’s use of data. The Insights Executive will help analyse and report on key information sources to understand the impact of major business decisions and help improve fan experience.
Finally, there will be many opportunities to work across key insights projects across the business. Projects may include analysing fan surveys, tackling major research projects such as understand Brentford Season Ticket and Member behaviour, sustainability data analysis, and measuring marketing impact
Main Accountabilities
- Game-by-game reporting on ticketing sales and ticket exchange behaviour
- Data support for ticketing marketing and communications strategy, including revenue modelling and demonstrating marketing impact
- Audience analysis for major non-Premier League games
- Providing data showing the impact of ticketing decisions to external stakeholders
- Market research on ticketing and membership offerings in football
- Analysis of box office (ticket office) data to help improve customer service levels
- Building Looker and PowerBI dashboards to demonstrate business performance
- Ad-hoc support on major Insights projects, including but not limited to: survey analysis, membership behaviour reporting, marketing impact analysis and retail and social media performance
- Any other relevant tasks and duties as directed by your line manager

- Educated to a degree level in any subject or with relevant career experience
- The ability to create compelling stories and insights using a wide range of information and sources
- A background in desk research
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written skills (any context)
- A good understanding of Microsoft Excel (eg pivot tables) and a willingness to develop your data analysis skills further
- Good Microsoft PowerPoint skills
- An interest in the business of sport, not just an interest in football. Previous experience of working in sport is not necessary
Person Specification – Desirable Characteristics
- Use of more advanced data reporting (eg PowerBI, Looker Studio) or specialist ticketing platforms (eg Ticketmaster) desirable but not mandatory as there will be chances to learn on the job
